A Strong Foundation for Your Child’s Academic Journey

The elementary school curriculum focuses on developing fundamental skills and teaching key knowledge building blocks that each student needs to master the major subject areas and complete more advanced coursework. Our personalized approach means students can learn at a pace that meets their needs. Through online and offline activities, all guided by state-certified teachers, your child is sure to start strong.

Bringing Lessons to Life

Lessons come alive with a rich mixture of online and hands-on activities including interactive animations, printed books with illustrations and narrative, original music and videos, and material for hands-on experiments.*

Lessons are followed by formal and informal assessments, so you can be sure your child has mastered a concept before moving on. Our online learning platform has built-in planning and progress tools that make it easy to stay on track. With hundreds of lessons per subject, students can take a deep dive into areas they’re interested in.

Our Socratic Seminar Teaching Method

We structure our classrooms around a seminar-based approach, where instruction is collaborative and discussion-focused. Students are guided through interactions to talk about the topic at hand in order to drive learning and shape how the children think, ask questions, and respond.

With this method of teaching, learning happens for our students through discussion rather than lecture. This strategy for learning helps students:

  • Develop higher cognitive abilities
  • Develop the ability to respond
  • Develop the ability to seek clarification and defend the ideas of others
  • Develop the ability of keen observation of experience and feelings and how to present them effectively

Online Courses for Elementary Students: Recurring Themes

Across our courses and throughout our elementary school curriculum, we incorporate repeated themes that build on teachings from the earlier grade and continue to weave an ever-richer tapestry of overlapping and related knowledge.

This means your child may study literature from the same time period as that being covered in art or history lessons. For example, a story about a king who built a monument to honor his late wife may be paired in the online elementary curriculum with an examination of the origin, history, and architecture of the Taj Mahal.
