General FAQs
What grades are offered by Grand Canyon Private Academy (GCPA)?
GCPA offers full-time enrollment for students in grades PK–12 who reside anywhere in the nation and in select countries. Contact enrollment for a list of eligible countries.
What subjects will my child study?
English/language arts, math, science, and history are the core courses. Other courses in the appropriate grade levels, such as art, health/PE, music, and world languages are also offered. Visit our pre-kindergarten, elementary, middle school, and high school curriculum pages for more details.
What does it cost to attend GCPA?
Grand Canyon Private Academy has worked hard to offer private school pricing that respect the commitment and investment families make when enrolling their children in private school.
Tuition and Fees
- Pre-kindergarten: $2,650/one semester or $5,300/full year
- K–5: $3,025/one semester or $5,500/full year

There may be additional costs associated with special education services, which could vary based on the level of services needed to properly support a student’s IEP/ISP/MET/504 plan.
Grand Canyon Private Academy participates in Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account. Arizona’s ESA fully covers GCPA’s tuition costs, meaning Arizona students can attend for free.
We also participate in Florida’s Personalized Education Program, which provides families with access to an education savings account to fund the education needs of Florida students who do not attend public or private school full-time. At GCPA, these funds can be used for online courses and tutoring. Connect with an enrollment consultant for guidance.
Are there tuition assistance or financial aid options?
Grand Canyon Private Academy participates in Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA). The ESA is available for Arizona residents only and fully covers GCPA’s tuition costs, meaning Arizona students can receive a private education 100% tuition-free.*
Public funding through the ESA enables families to expand their educational opportunities outside the public school system and further personalize their education experience. Arizona’s ESA can cover education expenses, including private school tuition, tutoring services, learning materials, and more.
Additionally, GCPA participates in Florida’s Personalized Education Program, providing Florida students who do not attend public or private school full-time with access to an education savings account to fund their education needs. These funds can be used for online courses and tutoring at GCPA.
Visit our Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account or Florida Personalized Education Program page for more information or connect with a GCPA enrollment consultant for guidance.
How do students participate in the college experience opportunities?
Grand Canyon Private Academy will work with each qualified student to enroll them in an appropriate college-level course schedule. Students can earn college credits toward an associate’s degree while completing their high school curriculum.
Does GCPA provide textbooks and other instructional materials?
Yes. We provide textbooks and instructional materials needed to complete the program. These books and materials are dependent on the student’s grade level and the courses they’re enrolled in. High school students receive fewer books and materials than elementary and middle school students.
Can my child work at their own pace?
While all grades have minimum progress and pacing requirements, some advancement and flexible pacing options exist.
How much time do students spend on the computer?
In the younger grades, many of the online lessons include offline work. Elementary students spend about 50–60% of their time online. Screen time increases in middle school, and by high school, most of the school day is online.
Do you provide curriculum for children with special needs?
Depending on a child’s IEP/ISP/MET plan, we can tailor your child’s learning experience to meet their needs. To discuss your child’s needs with us, please contact our office, and we will put you in touch with our special education team.
Can you accommodate the accelerated learning needs of my advanced learner?
The beauty of our program is that it is flexible enough to meet children where they are in any given subject and take them where they want to go. Grade placement assessments, completed as part of the enrollment process, allow us to place your student in the appropriate level of curriculum.
How do students interact socially?
Students spend time with classmates online and through other extracurricular activities. School-based clubs and K12 online national clubs provide various social opportunities for students to connect with like-minded interests and passions.
Will this program intrude into my home?
There are no home visits as part of the program and no other intrusions into your home. This school was created to help your child obtain a first-class education and serve your family’s needs. If you ever feel that it is not right for your family or your child, you can withdraw at any time.
